North Carolina architect continuing education

We have the newest information for the North Carolina architect. We currently have a number of continuing education courses in development. These courses will include topics such as:
- Green building - Topics that will be covered are wind power generators, rainwater harvesting, recycled wood flooring, permeable pavement, and constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment.
- Ethics for Architects - This course will review such topics as conflicts of interest, duties and obligations towards the public, accessibility of records, case studies, and making ethical judgements.
- Mold Prevention - Now that mold is a hot topic in the construction industry, this course will cover sources of mold, new construction and mold, rightsizing, standards and regulations, liability, and litigation.
- Using Gypsum in New Construction - This continuing education course provides current information on drywall and veneer plaster construction, coventional lath and plaster construction, suspended accoustical ceiling systems, and general construction.
A registered architect is required, by the North Carolina Board of Architecture, to complete no less than 12 hours of continuing education hours each year. One hour of continuing education is 50 minutes of contact time.
Continuing Education must be based on the study of relevant technical and professional architectural subjects relating to safeguarding live, health, property, and promoting the public welfare. The Board approves courses, credits and continuing education hours for courses and any other method of earning credit
- To renew your Architect License in the state of North Carolina, you are required to complete 12 hours of continuing education.
- The hours shall be in technical and professional architectural subjects related to safeguarding health, safety, and welfare. Hours may not be carried over.
- Licenses shall be renewed on or before July 1. Continuing education requirements must be completed before this date.
- You must retain a record of course completion for a period of two years after credit is claimed and provided to the North Carolina Board of Architecture upon request.
